Friendly URLs

The application generates “imaginary” URL’s based off live information held within the database about each property/region/country. These URL’s are then listed within the site, for example, in the site map. While search engine spiders cannot follow a search form to index all of the properties held within your database, they will follow these links.

When a browser (or search engine spider) requests the imaginary page, the filter is called which interprets the request, searches for a property or search results match, and displays the correct page to the requesting party.

As an example, the search engine friendly URL may be:
www.YourDomainName.com/properties_in_spain/calpe/new_development/3_bedrooms/221/property.html

In other less advanced systems a typical URL would be something like:
www.YourDomainName.com/main/property_details.asp?id=19221

XHTML Strict 1.0 / CSS 2.0

Your site will be coded using XHTML Strict 1.0 as validated by WC3 (Worldwide Web Consortium), utilising external cascading style sheets (CSS). XHTML has several benefits over traditional bloated HTML, these include:

• Some of the best methods of optimising a web site are ensuring that a page is not overly heavy in file size, maintaining a good content to code ratio, using lots of relevant content.  XHTML documents have cleaner code so they can more easily be ‘indexed’ by the major search engines.
• XHTML pages will have less code and therefore will load faster in all browsers.
• XHTML pages are backward compatible with older, non-XHTML compliant web browsers. Instead of sloppy HTML tags, your pages will contain XML tags that are always properly closed and nested correctly.
• XHTML offers greater accessibility because they follow strict rules and avoid non–standard mark-up.
